This piece was created during the 2021 Stamps Virtual Pre-College Program. The prompt was to create a surrealist collage and then render it using mixed media. I found that using oil pastels for the colored portions of the drawing forced me to let go of precision in favor of capturing the overall form and color of the collaged objects. I am not entirely happy with the way this contrasts with the precise rendering style of the graphite, but this piece was a good learning exercise for me.
